Questions
we need to ask ourselves about the shootings, the pornography, the suicides, and
the violence. We are overcomers and
we must not be silent. We
cannot wait until it happens to us. 1. Are we as guilty today as Adam and Eve of the “sin of omission”? In the beginning……in the garden of Eden Adam and Eve sinned against God. We know how they sinned, what they did. What about the sin of “omission” --what they did not do. God gave them dominion and authority in the Garden and they could have said “no” to the temptation of Lucifer and ordered him out of the garden. Genesis 1-3 Situation is the same today! 2. Are we ‘grasshoppers’ or ‘overcomers’ when we hear reports of destruction and violence--do we too, feel fear because of the evil ‘giants’ in our land? In Numbers 13:17,30 we are told that Moses sent out 12 men to ‘spy out’ (secretly investigate) the Promised Land. Ten of them said, “we in our own sight are as grasshoppers.” Ten were full of fear, but two said, “We are well able to overcome” (because of their faith in God). Note:
God gave His people the promised land but they had to go in and take it.
We live in a land of promise, we must protect it. 3. Do we love men and hate the devil and his demons? Proverbs 8:13 tells us the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. Paul tells us in Eph. 6 our battle is spiritual. Jesus tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves, Matt.19:19. We must pray on behalf of men, against evil! 4. Are we too busy today to hear the voice of God, are we missing the Ark? Noah in Genesis 7, 8, 9 tries to tell the people how serious their situation is and encourages them to join him on the ‘Ark’ before the great flood. They were too “busy” and they ignored the warnings. We too, could be so busy we miss the boat. 5. Are we seduced by the comforts we enjoy and seduced by a spirit of apathy? Samson was seduced by Delilah ignoring his responsibilities and the power of God in his life was cut off. A warning for us, today! Note:
The Scripture that best speaks to Prayer Against Violence for our campaign is
Matt. 11:12 “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” 6.
Are we, today, ignorant of the plan of God to forgive and the plans of the devil
to kill, rob and destroy? Paul talks about forgiveness so that we might not be ignorant of the devices of the devil in 2 Cor. 2:10. Paul also talks about standing against the “wiles” (plans) of the devil in Ephesians 6:11. Note:
1000 young people attempt suicide every day; drive by shootings are occurring;
young people disappearing after an Internet encounter; and shootings take place
in home, offices, schools and churches. How could we be ignorant of the
plans of the devil when they are before our very eyes and ears, on radio,
newspaper and television! 7. Looking at the true picture of the devil, is there any doubt that we must wrestle, (pray) first with the spiritual side of life before attempting to deal with the physical? We learn in John 8:44 that those who murder are of the devil, that he was a murderer from the beginning. The devil and demons are spiritual beings. The Bible also says the devil is the “prince of this world”, John 12:31; “the prince of the power of the air”, Eph. 2:2; “our adversary”, I Peter 5:8; the destroyer”, Rev. 9:11. 8.
Why wouldn’t we as believers use the words of Jesus that are “spirit and
life” against the evil in the world every day? A woman is ‘loosed’ by Jesus. whom he says has been bound by the devil for 38 years in Luke 13:16; Jesus gives authority to bind and loose in Matt. 16, 18; and says in John 14:12 “He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” What a great encouragement for us! Note:
I am sure you agree we must pray, the evidence to act is over whelming; the need
is so great! 9.
Is there any reason that we would not win against the enemy if we submit to God
and are persistent in trusting God and resisting the devil? What a great story Jesus tells in the beginning of Luke 18. A Judge who had no fear of God or regard for man, gave justice to a widow because of her “continual coming”. Luke 10:19 tells us Jesus has given power over all the power of the enemy; and nothing by any means shall harm us. James 4:7 “Submit to God; resist the devil, and he will flee.” It is all there! 10.
Do we truly know who God is, how much He loves us, how willing He is to answer
prayer, and to back up our words in Jesus Name, against the enemy? This is the most important question of all. God is the supreme creator of the universe; God is sovereign, the last word in all things; God is a loving, caring Father who sent His only begotten Son to set us free from sin and death. God is a Spirit, the Holy Spirit to whom we may submit, trust, rely and confidently depend upon! Note:
We have learned to repent in tears and rejoice in prayer. We teach,
preach, pray and believe in an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus as
Lord. Our faith is not in what we believe but in who God the Father, Jesus
the Son, and the Holy Spirit truly are. We
believe we are commissioned to take authority over the devil and his demons,
confront them, and cast them out, in the Name of Jesus. A new believer can
say “no” to the devil and his ways in power and confidence Jesus
told Peter the devil wanted to sift him like wheat. Jesus did not ask the
Father for help or to send angels; He merely said, “I pray your faith fail
not.” We
encourage you to pray according to your knowledge and comfort zone, and your
faith fail not. We pray each person reading this will have a deeper more
personal abiding relationship each and every day with our precious Lord! Dear
God, we pray that You will bring in workers for the harvest, and raise up an
army equipped with hope, faith, and perseverance. We boldly ask this in
the Name of Jesus! Pray
